I watched Round 2 of the Eurovision song contest last night.
My reaction goes like this:

Albania: Not bad. Not too great either. Commentators seemed to love her. Not sure why.
Azerbaijan: Song wasn't great. Singing was alright. She was gorgeous, but her outfit was terrible. He reminds me of someone I know.
Cyprus: Good voice. Weird, boring song. She did, however, have bright shiny, glowy boxes.
Denmark: This band was quite good. Their song was written by Ronan Keating; on it's own, not a bad thing, however, the guy looked and sounded like Ronan Keating.
Estonia: I really liked this girl. She sang well. She played the violin. She has an awesome Fringe.
Greece: This guy was ridiculous. The Australian commentators were rooting for him because his song was written by Australians. He wasn't a very good singer, his outfit was stupid. His song was fairly stupid. His backup dancers were stupid. The only thing he had going for him was a conveyor belt on the stage... then it opened up into a giant stapler with a Greek flag in it.
Hungary: This guy should win purely for the hilarity of his act. He's a professional dancer and his dancing sucked. His song sucked. And his outfit... You can watch his act Here
Latvia: This guy was so impressive I have absolutely no recollection of him.
Lithuania: This guy was quite good. He started out playing the piano; I think he should've stayed there, but whatever.
Netherlands: These guys were brilliant! 3 old(er) guys in silver, sequined suits with fat women pretending to be DJs as backup singers. Absolutely priceless. I'm disappointed they didn't make the finale.
Slovakia: The duo wasn't too bad. He didn't seem to have his heart in it and she struggled with some high notes. In my mind, the song, which was in Slovakian and quite obviously a love song, was about a ham sandwich. I think that may have affected my reaction to it.

The rest didn't really stand out for me.
The Australian commentators were awesome. They called it how they saw it and made very little attempt to hide it when they didn't like an act.

I just spent the last hour buggering around with stupid mood themes, which I finally got working.

Now I have a biology paper, which is due on Friday, to write.

I also have about 6 weeks worth of French work to catch up on, a maths paper to start/finish, English and Biology tests to study for and 2 English papers to write.

I have about 6 books half read, several of which are essential for school.

I also have the following things sitting on my hard drive waiting to be watched:
  • 4 seasons of Quite Interesting
  • 3 episodes of Dollhouse
  • most of a season of Merlin
  • most of a season of Firefly
  • 2 seasons of Buffy
  • most of a season of Chuck
  • a season of Dexter
  • half a season of Friday Night Lights
  • half a season of True Blood
  • an entire season of Tengen Toppen Gurren Lagan
  • 1 season of Oz
  • 2 seasons of Saxondale
  • 4 entire documentary series
  • a mini series
  • 2 obscure French films
  • 14 obscure non-French films
Plus I have to cook dinner in about an hour and I'm incredibly tired and doubt I'll get anything productive done tonight.

My dream...

I just remembered the dream I had last night.

I was in a shopping center and all of the people working there were villains from horror movies.
Leather Face was packing shelves in Payless Shoes, Freddy Krueger worked in Boost, Mike Meyers was a clerk in K-Mart and the mutants from the Hills Have Eyes were custodians. There were others, but I don't remember them.

On a similar note, I watched the Face of Fu Manchu last night and found it hilarious and a wee bit sad that there was only one Chinese name in all of the credits. All the main characters who were supposed to be Chinese were just white guys with really drastic eye make up. Gotta love the 60s.

I also watched ANTM last night. Miss J's ruffles are the greatest thing I've ever seen!!!
